(CBS) Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen leaves Tuesday night on an overseas trip that will take him to Israel, reports CBS News national security correspondent David Martin. The trip has been scheduled for some time but U.S. officials say it comes just as the Israelis are mounting a full court press to get the Bush administration to strike Iran's nuclear complex.

CBS consultant Michael Oren says Israel doesn't want to wait for a new administration.

"The Israelis have been assured by the Bush administration that the Bush administration will not allow Iran to nuclearize," Oren said. "Israelis are uncertain about what would be the policies of the next administration vis-à-vis Iran."

Israel's message is simple: If you don't, we will. Israel held a dress rehearsal for a strike earlier this month, but military analysts say Israel can not do it alone.

"Keep in mind that Israel does not have strategic bombers," Oren said. "The Israeli Air Force is not the American Air Force. Israel can not eliminate Iran's nuclear program."

The U.S. with its stealth bombers and cruise missiles has a much greater capability. Vice President Cheney is said to favor a strike, but both Mullen and Defense Secretary Gates are opposed to an attack which could touch off a third war in the region.

U.S. intelligence estimates Iran won't be able to build a weapon until sometime early in the next decade. But Israel is operating on a much shorter timetable.

"The Iranians, according to Israeli security sources, will have an operable nuclear weapon by 2009. That's not a very long time," Oren said.

For now, the Bush administration is counting on new economic sanctions which took effect Tuesday to persuade Iran to give up its nuclear program. But nobody's counting on it.

Israel to Bush: Dance, monkey boy, dance!

Then everything is exactly as it should be. The problem is Israel needs to attack more we are a really big country and following them into war is just too confining we need to take on all comers because sooner or later between the two of us the :)

We need to stop allowing the Israeli lobby and the Cuban lobby to make America's foreign policy. Do I see that happening with the next president? Nope. Both have agreed to suck up just like every president in the past has.

Charity starts at home . That should be the motto for everything. Work, security , funds taxes all need to stay right here in the US till we solve our own problems and then we can think about being involved with the rest of the world.

Well, actually you are half right. Cuba was and still is our enemy since they are radical liberals. Israel on the other hand is our only ally in a whole world of madmen.

So, what makes you think we are not deeply indebted to Israel? Everything we are and the reason for our success as a nation is due to them, so a little gratitude out of you would be nice.

If you want to severe useless affiliations I suggest we severe our ties with the house of Saud, we don't need them and they are just a bunch of fence walking assholes anyway. We do not depend on anyones oil that is a political lie just like Gores Global warming bullshit.

We do not need alternative fuels what we need is to do away with the EPA, put Congress in a padded room where they can't really do anything and then give me a platoon of Zulu's to go and convince the oil companies that I mean business when I demand they open every refinery we have and start producing to the max and then hold their profits until they recognise I want every cent put into opening how ever many refineries it will take to get us $1.00 per gallon gas for the next 500 years. I can assure you the first oil executive that smiles and tells me we need the profits for exploration will loose all of his teeth. I'll bet they see my point of view before I deal with ten of those arrogant bastards. :lmao IMO

Peachy, hang in there by the time I am through with you you will be a pleasure to know and be around. Even your dog will stop bitting you and pissing in your shoes.

I can't promise that you'll be a genius but your I.Q. will exceed room temperature if you just clean out your ears and listen very closely to my every word. :)

Good point but what will we do with all of those freeloading Europeans we took to raise? Our biggest problem we need to deal with is the Federal Reserve (Central Bank) and its tennacles like IRS and these extorting credit reporting manipulators. Make taxes equal for the rich by making the percentage of taxes the same for everyone and put everyone to work that can breathe or deport or shoot them. :)

See Peachy, I solved all of our problems and didn't break a sweat. Damn I'm good!!! :rofl

I think he gets his information and opinions from that accomplished star, Glenn Beck.

Here is Glenn Beck's Bio. :twitch

Beck restarted his career after high school and became an in-demand morning man, working in bigger and bigger markets. By the time he was 30 "alcoholism and drug addiction took him over," says the Web site biography, and he started afresh at a small-market station. At the same time, he went into recovery and, eventually, was baptized in the Mormon faith.

His nationally syndicated radio show airs out of Philadelphia.

At Headline News, "Glenn Beck" will air out of New York and be an unconventional look at the news of the day featuring Beck's often amusing perspective. The one-hour program will include guests and produced packages.

Mormonism, like Islam has nothing to do with faith, both are cults and demented half assed belief systems started by mentally ill and corrupt individuals.

Mormonism was started by a con man, an actual snake oil salesman Joseph Smith. And technically his believers should be called morons rather than mormons because the fantasy angel that supposedly delivered the golden tablets to Smith was named Moroni so it is not Mormon it is Moron, and is unintentionally correct. :0

Likewise Islam was started by an illiterate camel jockey that was insane. He even questioned if the messages he was given were coming from a demon because his religion was so steeped in violence but his wife that was 20 some odd years older encouraged him to keep on. (She knew it may be just what those stupid Arabs needed to unite and oppose God's people the Jews, and make her next to the throne of Islams founder.)

To demonstarate how utterly ridiculous this asswipe belief system is, their third holiest sight is dedicated to an event that could not have happened because Muhammed was never ever in Jerusalem in his lifetime. And everyone wonders why they are such worthless assholes???

And Glenn Beck is a big pussy!

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/07/10/missile.iran/index.html

(CNN) -- Iran launched only one missile on Thursday, not a new full round of tests, a senior U.S. military source told CNN, citing the latest U.S. intelligence assessments.
Seven short- to medium-range missiles were fired on Wednesday, the U.S. believes.

Iranian media reported that Tehran fired a series of missiles on Thursday in a second day of long-range missile testing, but the U.S. military official said American radar and satellite data do not back the claim. It is possible that Iran tested short-range missiles on Thursday, the source added.

I also remember in my paper at least (the missiles)say they had a range of 1500 miles and were based on the North Korea's model. Iran is not a desert like Iraq is, more like Nam I think?
If war does break out, were in real trouble, because if I remember right over 40% of the world's oil supply comes though the straight of Hormuz.

I think a far better resolve for solving the problems in the Middle East would be if it isn't Jewish...kill it. The difficult part would be explaining why we slaughtered the Europeans taking up space there.

However, the answer to that is, sometimes in war we have to do things we really would rather not do even though it is a hell of a lot of fun and entertaining. :snicker

Re. "Work" start with money changing carnies :devil:devil - then - deport all who have shipped out the jobs:sumo:devil

Well the jobs were shipped out because of afromative action and similar attacks on businesses. A similar fate was encountered by Volkswagen in Mexico when they had to accomodate the whims of non productive Mexicans, that had to have siesta breaks in the middle of the day , shorter hours and a very slow work pace. Volkswagen went elsewhere where quality workers were available that wanted to work.

Business does not happen where a cradle to grave philosophy is in play, and companies do not take worthless people to raise they just provide the opportunity to be industrious or business will go where there are industrious people.

ROFLMAO!!!!

Nope. They were moved out for the New World Order...which Bush keeps doing to this day. Affirmative Action went down the tubes along with unions with Reagan in 1980. Daddy Bush just wanted to jump start this New World Order economy since they all had the the World Bank and World Trade Organization in place.

It's people NOT educated like you that give this nation over to the fascists.
