Gore won 2000 election with popular vote.

Al Gore: 50,999,897 (48.38%)

G. W. Bush: 50,456,002 (47.87%)

Rush Limbaugh, all Republicans and all news networks have decided that Gore WAS actually President from 2001-2005.

They also decided he was impeached at the end of his first term for blunder of Iraq War.

This was my rebuttal to those (mostly Republican or women) still complaining that Hillary won the popular vote.

Lucky for us (and it seems Obama) the popular vote is not how we elect a president (or select the dem nom).

Yeah if Obama selects Hill as his VP he better hire a food taster as well.

I think the main reason that she is hanging in there until the convention is that she thinks something way worse than the Rev. Wright thing will break before then making him un-electable.

For instance the rumors (and I think that is all they are) that Michelle Obama gave a rev wright style rant against white people that someone has on video.

Either it does not exist or it does but republicans have it and are waiting for Obama to be officially nominated before they release it.

I doubt it exists, but you never know. Who would have thought she would be politically dumb enough to say that she had never been proud of her country before her husband was close to being nominated to be president, but she did.

No, I just throw back at you what you throw.

You were all concerned how Bush did not win the poular vote but won the electoral college. Should have known consistancy is not a leftist strong suit.

Oh, even you know what she meant by that proud of her country comment.

John, as usual, you haven't looked into the facts. Try looking at Real Clear Politics and educate yourself.

Oh, even you know what she meant by that proud of her country comment.

I do know what she meant, I go by what she said in the context of what was said.

She said that she was proud of her country for the first time in her adult life because of the way they were coming out and becoming involved.

She did not qualify it. I can only interpret that until the country looked at least willing to elect a black man to represent a major party in the presidential election, she had never been proud before.

Now that we know she sat in the pews of that hate spewing rev of hers, maybe she never had anything (from her point of view , the black values point of view) to be proud of?

That is how it seems to me.

I mean you think McCain actually want to leave our troops in Iraq for 100 years don't you?

It's difficult to take you seriously when you parrot that "hate spewing Reverend" rhetoric.

I think that McCain meant that we should have a permanent base in Iraq, and that is a very bad idea.

I'm looking at the facts, you are reciting talking points.

Because some votes were in the form of caucus votes, and other votes were cast as undecided, it's impossible to count the votes in the way that they are counted in a general election.

You waste so much time with this kind of bullshit. I can only assume it's because you know that bullshit is all you have.

You think, well there is the first problem with that.

Tell me, can you give me a link to where he has EVER said anything about a permanent base in Iraq?

I didn't think so.

Are you OK this morning? You seem to have already lost track of what we're talking about. The hundred years comment is a clear reference to a permanent base. Or at least a one hundred years base. Your alternatives are that he meant that he wanted a war that lasted one hundred years or that he is just delusional and was babbling. Your choice, any of the three are plausible, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.

The fact is, Hillary received more votes from people who went to voting booths than Obama did. Obama did all he could to make sure that Michigan and Florida did not vote again.

The rank and file democrats did not elect Obama, the super delegates selected him. The super delegates from TN are voting for him even though Hillary stomped him here.

If the rev wright stuff and the Bill Ayers stuff and the Rev wannabeblack Fleagle stuff had happened in Decenber instead of May, he would not have won.

I will say this, none of that stuff really matters to me. It is his attempt to dig up typical soak the rich, wealth redistribution democratic policies from the 30's and 60's and act like it is all new.

He is a hard left democrat in the mold of all the old hard left democrats, it is just in a better package and presented better. But the policies are still rotten corpses and still stink.

The fact is that you are pretending ignorance to belabor a point, which is pretty much your mainstay in posting.

And at the same time, you are sitting on the rotting, bloated corpse of Dubya, pretending that the smell isn't coming from your direction.

You are scared shitless that the majority of the American people might vote their own security and economic interests. :D

So you DO agree that Al Gore was elected in 2000.

Thanks, it seemed like no one was going to admit that rules and bylaws don't matter. Now, should Gore be impeached for starting the Iraq War too?

I agree.

Trueblue, JohnG and I know what she meant, but 70% of the American public will listen to any interpretation they hear on FoxNews.

Of course, just let Obama have one photo-op along side of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and he is finished.

You clearly do not understand the laws and by-laws of the DNC

Which are somewhat similar to the RNC's, but people don't know that, either. However, I do know how many children Britney Spears has.
