Blind Allegiance to Israel and Zionism has become a litmus test for President. He makes it about choosing sides rather than choosing a peaceful solution. The fact is Bush and Condolezza Rice did nothing to advance MidEast peace or stop the bloodshed there, whatsoever. many think they made it worse by green-ligyting Israel to bulldoe Jenin and bomb lebanon into the stone age for 30 days, without a whisper about overkill, proportionality or punishment of hundreds of thousands of innocents who became homeless refugees.
Now Bush is working furiously to make it appear that Obama cannot pass that Israel first Lieberman test. Bush/McCain/Lieberman would like to plant the impression that maybe Obama doesn't like Israel because Farrakhan prefers him to McCain. God forbit that maybe the American people will get to understand the other side of the conflict there beyond the notion that ~they~ are all terrorists, including the millions of Palestinians, Arabs and Iranians.
Bush says that he thinks that to maintain some open channels of communication and diplomacy with them means that you think you have some "ingenious plan" for Peace.
WTF is Bush's plan for peace? He was asleep at the wheel when he got warned about hijackings by OBL before 9/11 and then went into the invade Iraq/don't talk with strangers mode.
Maybe we don't need someone who is "ingenious" but we could use someone with a bit more intelligence than a shrub to deal with complex issues.
