Here's the story about KBR misusing tax dollars:

Army leaders endured an unusually aggressive grilling before the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Wednesday over contracting abuse, care for soldiers and their families and the quality of recruits. Several senators criticized Army Secretary Pete Geren and Gen. George Casey, the chief of staff, on those issues, in addition to concerns over the Army's ability to sustain the pace of deployments for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dorgan said a lower-level employee of KBR, which has received hundreds of billions of dollars in contracts for services in Iraq, told him that he had been ordered to put the company's logo on towels being furnished to troops, even though it could triple the cost. The unnamed employee said he was told the price did not matter because "it was a cost-plus contract," Dorgan said, waving a white towel embossed with a large KBR emblem.

"We put ourselves in a position where we could never go to war without contractors," he said, adding that even with the planned increase in force levels, "we won't see much change." But the secretary said that "we can do a better job of managing" the contractors. He cited a number of steps the Army has taken to improve its contracting management, including creation of units led by general officers to supervise "expeditionary contracting" and programs to train and promote professional contracting personnel.

Foxes guarding the henhouses. No Republican ever watched a business man except to learn new ways to cheat, lie, and abuse working people. They even cheat each other.

Yep: and the upshot is that these small timers and wanna be's that claim to be Republicans because they are identifying with "high class" people are either getting cheated and don't have enough sense to see it, will be if the Republicans get complete charge - or both!!:smooth:twocents:godzilla

Are you claiming that Democrats don't do the exact same thing??

It would appear not...and I hit the wrong button..yes, it is wrong for them to do this.

See, the republicans have REFUSED to investigate even the blatant theft of billions in CASH sent to Iraq. When they controlled the Congress, they ignored all the abuse and theft of tax payer dollars.

Given that the democrats are now holding hearings on it, cassandra, I 'd say the democrats are NOT condoning the theft.

What say you?

Here's the story about KBR misusing tax dollars:

I will not answer the poll until it is established that they have done anything ilelgal or unethical.

I di not understand why you on the left are so intent on making corporations in general and certain corporations that have ties or fomer ties to people you dispise, seem evil and corrupt.

Corporations are owned by Americans. The corporate leadership are individuals. The workers are individuals.

It seems that this is much like abortion, you have to dehumanize the intended victim so that you can attack it with impunity.

I suppose there could be a well managed Cost Plus Program, but I have never seen one.

They end up in excess profits, little review of expendatures, program managers groomed into prostitution for their military customers, etc.

Then the key is to stop offering cost plus programs.

Cost plus programs are a staple of government contracting and are not the result of either party.

No it is a fact, you on the left seemhell bent on demonizing companies on your way to taxing them out of existance.

You especially like to slam any company that produces anything you think is a need or any company with known ties to any republican in power.

hence the Boogieman of Halliburton and KBR is guilty of anything they are charged with simply because they used to be owned by halliburton.

You leftists are lame.

This is corruption. Why can't you just admit it? Why make this idiotic statement about dehumanizing corporations?

It is corruption when it is proven not when it is only an allegation.

It is not idiotic to point out what you leftist do to justify not only the taking of innocent human life but to justify the extreme taxation and regulation of corporations.

With regard to your allegation/proven-Point taken, can you at least confess that IF TRUE, this is fraud and corruption?

And yes, your comparison is idiotic.

Okay, I was beginning to think that I was going to have to buy birthday cards for corporations or something, cause they were just people like me.

It's interesting, I heard this "they're just people" argument from a different person not long ago. As if people weren't capable of being evil.
