Rudeness has become a national pastime, from in-your-face reality tv to road rage to obscenity laden music, tv and movies, we have become a culture of the loud, the crude, and the rude. And while many today write of wtiquette as passe, the definition of love has not changed and neither has God's definition of love either.
Quote:
1 Cor 13: 4-7
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres

There is a rationale for the reason people are rude today.
Pace of Life: People say that they are just to busy
Parenting
Popular Entertainment: Everyone does it so it must be ok
Relaxed/Casual Culture: "Hey no one really cares anyway"
Pressure to Succeed: "I must get ahead no matter what"
It Just Feels Good: They were rude first and it felt good to get back at themThese are just excuses people use to justify their actions.
Rudeness has two roots: Ignorance and Arrogance. People are Ignorant of how loved they really are and how much they really are blessed. They are Arrogant of who is in charge of their lives. "No one can tell me what to do I'm in control here"
The way to solve rudeness is through Knowledge and Humility.
Here are some ways to start showing respect for people around you
Speak with Honesty not Hostility. Truth is good but it should be tempered with Love
Be Courteous not Condescending: Treat people with the same compassion that you want to be treated with
Be Relational not Ruthless: Try being a friend instead of an enemy
Be Compliant not Defiant: Don't be selfish but always help others, never think yourself better then anyone.Remember "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" translated Treat everyone the same way that you want to be treated
