At least that is my opinion.
Wow, that was my favorite part of the debate... finally, I thought, some hardball questions for Obama, questions that were nowhere near as loathsome as ones that Hillary has entertained for decades.
Whatever you think about 'em, he better harden up, though, because that's nothing like what the Republicans are going to launch.

I didn't see it, I am going by the written account.
How it is "fair" for Obama to be asked nasty questions because Hillary is escapes me. This is classic Russert, and why I can't stand to watch his interviews. He focuses on idiocy like this and ignores anything important.
The media is NOT obligated to play the Publicans game.

Russert is one of the best in the business...a Great political analyst......I can remember when Gore and Kerry were running, how the LEFT praised Russert for his insightful comments....but now..............when he gets tough on the Demos for a change, he's a bum! Too fucking funny!:rofl:rofl
For years, all the commentators asked softball Q. to Hillary, Bill, Pelosi et al...now they have gotten tougher on them and ...Bully for Them! You see TB...Bush isn't running any longer...and if one of your guys gets in...they better damn well have answers!!!

I am big fan of Russert. I am glad he asked Obama the questions he did. He was really doing Obama a big favor by getting these issues out in the open now instead of letting them fester away on into the general election.

Hey, I'm even handed about this. Russert does this to everybody, and I don't like it no matter who the target. I wish I could say the same about you, wab. :shrug

Americans are tired of Hope and elusive answers...we want REAL answers from Demos! Not...I Have a Dream!!! That was so much bullshit from MLK and it's the same today!
What they need to be saying instead of I have a Dream....is I Have the Answer and here it is!

Well.......they aren't real issues, but they still have to be tackled because you and I both know that you know who will make them into issues. I realize it's gutter politics, but it is real, and the candidates have to deal with it. No one is going to be able to wrestle in the mud pit of a Presidential Campaign without getting a little dirty.

Part of my problem with it is how long it apparently went on.
The other part is that I just have lost confidence in TR. I have a lot of respect for your opinion, but I really think that TR is no longer a journalist.

Apparently a lot of Americans think Obama is great. They scream when he appears and some even faint. The media has turned Obama into a rock star. I don't know how he feels about that. Maybe Russert should have asked him that.
I agree no one asks Obama tought questions. Or seems to care that he never answers the question he was asked. He just gives parts of his speeches. I have watched nearly every debate and I could not tell you what he is for or against. Except when he repeats what Clinton has just said.
A commentator remarked that Obama lacks his normal pizzaz when he is in a debate. He was right. In a debate situation, he is pretty boring, as is Clinton. But she is pretty boring all the time. No one loves listening to a wonk. But at least she has ideas other than just saying "trust me." That is a famous line given to a woman that a man is intrested in screwing. I distrust all men who say that.

That's crazy. All of it, but particularly the part where you claim he's been easy on Dems. Admit it, you've never watched his show and have no clue what you're talking about.

Russert is NO WAY near Republican, Daisy May, so forget that tripe!! His connection to Farrakhan as well as his connection to Ayres of the WEATHERMEN, the RADICAL Leftists!!!
Russert is a truth seeker, and if he upsets TB he must be good! Hillary had her Boots in Odummy's face too, so I think she enjoyed finally a tough question for the Chicago Idiot!!!:mw:akbar:mw
