View Full Version : The REAL difference between Conservatives and Liberals!

Let me preface this statement that this is not something about ALL Conservatives and Liberals, just most of them and this board bears me out.
Conservatives seemed to believe ANYTHING if it's hating on Liberals. No proof needed, no source material required. Whether it's the form letter about Obama being a Muslim spy or a post about Democrat politicians being "American Terrorists" if it's in print, on the Radio or internet - whatever - as long as it's anti-Liberal they'll believe it or, worse yet, pass it on anyway!
Liberals seem to want and demand proof. Conservatives don't want proof, nor do they want to apologize when proven wrong (whether you want to talk about how Rush made fun of Michael Fox's Parkinson's disease, apologized, then said he was never wrong on his website; or Ann Coulter calling Edwards a Fag - then claiming she's not homophobic; the list could go on and on.) Whereas Liberals expect an apology when there politicians fuckup, hence Hillary's STILL having problems with not apologizing for her vote on the war.
Look at some of the most hateful and nasty posts here...read Ringo's posts, for example. They are diatribes against the Left that have little to no basis in truth. They're not here to educate or challenge, but simply to alienate and enrage.
Maybe not everywhere, but by volume of posts and types of post, here at TPA, Conservatives don't want nor demand truth and proof. That says more about the Conservatives here then any uber-negative, no proof, scorched earth policy post that I could create. :deadshot

I think you are overlooking a huge part of conservatives. Many conservatives don't post on message boards. They just aren't interested in spreading their message that way.

Hence my preface of saying "not all Conservatives."
But Sandi, you tell me, honestly look at TPA, look at the nasty in your face, scorched earth, little to no proof posts here. I'd say the ratio of those kind of hate mongering posts here are 4:1 in the Conservatives favor. Kinda sad for your side of the fence, I think.:devil

The difference between leftists and conservatives is easy...
Reason and logic, leftists don't care much for it.
Another difference, conservatives revere the constitution, leftists use it for toilet paper when it does not suit them.
To me the big difference is that leftists are very compassionate, as long as someone else is paying the tab for it.

Well I could provide examples of certain liberals that say stuff without wanting proof and especially when they are against conservatives. Just look at Toxic's and YTD's posts regarding Conservatives.
Now Dead if you aare judging the whole based on what people on a forum say then you ought to take a look at AWE. The most vile and disgusting people there are the leftists. On that board everything you say about conservatives in your post here applies to most liberals there.
So are we to judge everyone in a group by the actions of some are should we judge each person based on their individual actions and words?

I agree. There are some good conservatives here. And everywhere. I don't have a problem with people just because they disagree with me. And I don't think it makes them stupid. Nor can I imagine saying I think they should die as Capitalist did about Clinton.
This forum is for debate and most people here want to do that. I could post on dialykos if I never wanted to hear a different opinion. I don't appreciate the ravers, but most people here are not like that. This is the best MB I have found and you are going to have to beat me off with a stick to make me leave.:deadshot Lol. Bush is a liberal :shock
I have never thought Bush was a conservative.
He spends like a democrat. He lets the government grow like a democrat. He wants to let a bunch of poor ignorant illegals stay...
Yep you could say he is a liberal on many issues.
In 2000 I voted for Forbes in the primary, not Bush.
In 2004 I skipped the primary no good choices.
The biggest problem with Bush is that on too many issues he acts like a democrat.

Many conservatives say that, and then act as if the reason that the nation rejected Bush is that Bush is too liberal. :lol Not hardly.
Bush is extremely conservative. He believes in a far stronger executive than any liberal would EVER embrace, and his belief in that is THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM WITH EVERYTHING THAT HAS GONE WRONG IN THIS ADMINISTRATION.
Bush did not share intell that did not suit him in the lead up to the war, he did not act to reign in any spending as long as Publicans proposed it, he did not reign in Karl Rove when Rove acted to preserve political power for the Publicans.
That is what people are disgusted with. The abuse of power, the lies, the low-down political tricks. Not that he didn't act conservative enough.

I am not a republican asswipe, I am in the Libertarian/Objectivist frame of mind.
That means I agree with about 50% of whqat republicans want and about 0 to 1% of what democrats want.
I just don;t think much of people who get their power by taking from a group of people who are acheivers and productive to buy the votes of the ingnorant poor.
I am more likely to vote for those who promise me NOTHING but what the constitution called for with it's original intent.
When they start telling me that THEY are going to GIVE me healthcare I want to puke cause THEY are going to STEAL from one group to GIVE me something, well no thanks I will take care of myself and my family. The government just needs to back off so I can.

I do not answer no because he is too conservative and neither do the others who voted for hoim that now constitute almost half of those who diaspprove of his performance.

If you guys on the Right would/could reign in your haters, I think we on the Left would/could reign in ours. But, I don't really believe that you guys WANT to reign in your haters.
Since there are more of them, i.e. Conservative haters, here then Liberal haters, I think that needed to be pointed out.

If the religious people can convince 2/3 of the House and Senate and a like number of state legislatures to go along it is their right to try that. By what right do you deny them the constitutional remedy they seek.
