I am not sure if Romney's delegates are bound by this endorsement but Romney's delegates when added to McCain's existing total would make McCain the nominee of the party. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23168380/ Republican campaign dropout Mitt Romney agreed Thursday to endorse Sen. John McCain and asked his national convention delegates to swing behind the party front-runner, according to officials familiar with the decision.
Romney collected 280 delegates during his run through the early primaries and caucuses. If enough of them switch, McCain could quickly reach the total of 1,191 needed to clinch the nomination.

It is never that simple. Romeny may not be able to legally commit these delegates to vote for McCain. http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/02/14/665455.aspxWhether Romney's 282 delegates can be given to McCain depends on each state's rules on "releasing" delegates, per the RNC.
Language to watch for during Romney's endorsement is if he says he is "releasing" his delegates "to McCain." That, or some variation, may be enough in some states where he won BOUND delegates.
Caucus states' rules are less restrictive and several of these states' delegates are completely unbound and may be able to go to whomever they so choose.
Here are the primary state delegates Romney has won: Ark. (1), Calif. (6), Ga. (3), Ill. (3), Mass. (22), Mich. (23), N.H. (4), Tenn. (8) and Utah (36).
Caucus state delegates won: Alaska (12), Colo. (43), Iowa (7), Maine (18), Minn. (38), Mont. (25), Nev. (17), N.D. (8), Wyo. (8).
Of these, all of the primary delegates are pledged. But, of the caucuses, the following are not bound: Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada and Wyoming.
*** UPDATE *** Highlighting how complicated this all can be, the Massachusetts Republican Party, said once Romney says his delegates can be released, then they are no longer bound to him, BUT they aren't sure if they would be legally bound to McCain -- if Romney so urges -- or if they can vote their conscience. They are checking.

Once the real battle begins, McCain is going to try to side step his position on Iraq and the Dems aren't going to let him do that. He's another warmonger and the people have had enough of the war. Republicans lost the W.H. See you on '12.
Yep! That should clinch it!
GO MAC!

What I am waiting to see is if Wabby is as tough on Mac's flip flopping as he has been on past candidates of the Democratic persuasion.

Well...... Wabby is not admitting support for McCain....he's being mysterious. We are supposed to get brain excercise trying to determine who he is supporting. He is the rubic's cube of the forum. He's so complex, you know.
Yeah, I noticed how complex he is when he talks of watching Obama's wife and covets her. :rofl
Anyway, if it was about looks Edwards would have won hands down ~ in the last two elections. :snicker
