They are wonderful, especially if you enjoy a full bodied cup of java. Very nice - check Starbucks.

French Presses can get quite expensive quite fast.

Really I was set on getting a new expresso machine but my friend was going on and on about her french press. What kind do you have TB?

TB of course I use fair trade coffee. The birthplace of my soon to be son is the birthplace of coffee! It is amazing how little they are paid for really good coffee.

They are wonderful, they unlike coffee makers, do not have a filter that stops the oil. It is the oil that has the most flavor.
A French Press used with filterd water makes the best coffee, so long as you use good coffee to begin with.

I've had a French Press for about 12 years now and only use it if there's a power outage.

Here's the reason.......As good as the coffee tastes from a french press when using an espresso ground coffee the grinds find their way through the metal screen filter inside the coffee pot.. I have heard on several occasions that coffee residue can accumulate inside the kidneys and i dont think thats a good thing :devil

That is your problem then, to use a french press you must have coffee ground for a french press, coffee ground for esspresso or for a drip coffee maker is too fine to use.

Each way to make coffee, drip, esspresso, french press, has different ways to be ground and drip has itself two different ways, one for a flat filter and one for a cone filter.
