I saw the flick with my wife & kids. It's ok, but I didn't realize, and niether did my family, that it's the first part of a extended show. I don't know if it's supposed to be a trilogy (a la Star Wars) or something more in line with Harry Potter. While the story was good, it wasn't Star Wars or Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings good. With a budget of 180 million dollars they only made about 25 million. So do the math on that one. Almost every movie doesn't do as well the second weekend. Alvin and the Chipmunks comes out this weekend and I think it will beat Golden.

So while I think that on a intellectual level I totally disagree with the Rev, on a realistic level, he's right. This movie isn't good enough to merit a sequel and it'll probably die. I hope the little girl goes on to act again, both my girls liked her.
