View Full Version : Laura Ingram Schooled By A Youngster

Ingram is subbing for O'Reilly....she just had a college aged anti-war activist on and was unable to shut her up easily. She tried to bully her...force her to answer inane "yes or no" questions. The young lady didn't cave in, though. She got her points across...even amid the "shocking" video clips of OTHER anti-war demonstrators acting foolish.
It was a good look at the bullying tactics often used by FOX. Even my wife...who is not particularly interested in politics...looked at Ingram and said..."What a bitch!"

Well...I guess it is Ingraham...not Ingram.

Then we have to look at liberal host's and how well they deal with Conservatives...Haaaaaaaa!
Who was the fat bitch with the loud mouth that sandbagged Tom Selleck, a guest on her show?

Obviously you didn't watch the exchange. This must be your conclusion given to you by others who did not watch the exchange. I saw no bullying. She did try to get her to answer tough questions (not yes or no) as you say, but with a coherent response. Which, of course, she was unable to do. The only point she got across was Bush is bad. Which most people can agree on anyway. She had incoherent responses to even the simplest of questions.

I saw it all right...and I do not agree with your assesment at all. If you think Ingraham was calm and collected and genuinely interested in hearing what the young woman had to say, you've been brainwashed beyond repair.
I suppose you thought the comments Ingraham made about the wrist band was appropriate as well. Or...did your blinders block that little gem? Get over yourself.
It will show up on you tube soon enough....I'll post it here when it does.

Ingraham is violating her own alleged standards of "free speech" in this clip. The young woman was unable to speak because Ingraham constantly interrupted her.

That's a common tactic of the Right. Say, with a straight face, you are "fair and balanced" or in the "No spin zone" then start to be unfair, unbalanced and spining like a top!
Nothing like a straight faced liar!:LoneLaugher....BTW LoneLaughter, the Mutley laughing Icon is great!

Thanks, TB.
Sort of speaks for itself, doesn't it.
And thanks, deadshot..I thought it fit the bill.

I must have missed where I said she was calm and collected. Hmmm. I'm glad you are here to tell me what I said. I think she's pompous and likes to hear herself talk, but that doesn't change the fact that the so called protestor couldn't form an argument to fight out of a wet paper bag. I thought her comments were funny simply because it enraged the little girl more and more and her ranting became less coherent than it was before. That little girl didn't have a single fact or bit of evidence to even form an argument around. It is sad to say she was out of her league even while speaking to Ms. Ingraham.

The show is there so that the commentator can give political speeches. Why would anyone who wanted to talk go on it? We all know what they are like.

cl, anyone, including I dare to say yourself, would become angry over being treated as Ingraham treated that "guest". I have no idea what the "guest" wanted to say, nor do you, because Ingraham never let her finish a sentence.
You cannot honestly say that the "guest" had a single opportunity to express herself, therefore, your alleged amusement is marked down as spin. You don't like liberals and you enjoyed seeing a liberal interrupted repeatedly. It was a satisfying experience for you emotionally, which is what the college students experienced when watching Gonzales be interrupted.

Ch, I have a question for you. Do you watch O'Rielly to be informed and maybe see an actual discussion, one side (O'Rielly or guest host) vs. another side, or do you watch it to see the Conservatives beat up on the Liberals.
Now I didn't see it the same way you did, I think the girl didn't do to bad. But regardless of that we both agree that the guest host berated her and was pompous and was more concerned about hearing herself talk then anything else. Imagine what seeing that every day, a pompous "never wrong" host or guest hosts who berate and insult whomever they disagree with. Would the viewer walk away from the program thinking that each side got a fair shake? Or would the viewer walk away thinking that the Conservative position is always right and the Liberals were idiots or worse.
Really think about the credentials of that girl, Ingraham interviewed. Is that the best the Liberals could offer? Or was that the best that the O'Rielly Factor could come up with because no one wanting an actual conversation, discussion and/or debate would go on a hit show like O'Rielly's.
It says more about the Conservatives out there who tune into O'Rielly more then anything else. If I KNOW my info is better then yours, and I'm right, then I'm going to give you equal time. I want you to hang yourself. But if I've got nothing I will berate you and insult you.
That, in a nutshell, is the O'Rielly Factor.

I don't watch the O'Reilly Factor usually. I flip between CSPAN, Fox, and CNN of an evening, and just happened to stop on that segment. I thought the little girl was attractive, and decided to watch the segment. :drevil

Well, Challoway, I sort of expected that the reader of my post would understand that I was commenting on the bullying tactics of Laura Ingraham. Her loud and pushy demeanor was not enough to make the guest stop talking....which is what it was meant to do. The guest, while certainly less experienced ( probably a key factor in the decison to have her on **) held her ground and persisted in trying to get her point(s) across. Ingraham wound up coming off as a bully who could not control her temper and resorted to cheap shots.
** Fox OFTEN brings on less than experienced left-leaning guests. These people are often fringe types with over-the-top points of view. They are paraded in front of viewers to say something nutty that the host can pounce upon. Many times, they cower as Hannity or O'reilly or someone yells at them. Thinking people see it for what it is.

Now that I can agree with.
