Another man dies after being shot by Taser

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A 20-year-old man died Sunday after being shot with a Taser during a scuffle with a sheriff's deputy in Maryland, a spokeswoman for the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said.

Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said deputies responding to a report of a fight in progress arrived at the reported location in Frederick, Md., just before 5 a.m. and found four people fighting. The man fell unconscious after a deputy used a Taser on him, and was pronounced dead at Frederick Memorial Hospital a short time later, Bailey said.

The incident comes less than a week after a distraught man died after being hit with a Taser by a security officer at Vancouver International Airport in Canada.

The human rights organization Amnesty International has called for police departments to suspend use of the devices pending study of their possible risks. But the device's manufacturer said Friday that video depicting the man continuing to struggle after being zapped "is proof that the Taser device was not the cause of his death."

I've always wondered why Tasers didn't cause more deaths. It is going to cause cardiac irregularities. And that could possibly not kill a person for hours. It is the same thing that kills kids at sports practices.

Believe me, if a cop can't Taser people, they will shoot them. Especially if they don't speak English. That crime alone is probably punishable by death.

The gun and two cartridges cost $399.

I'm not sure if you even need to be a adult. There isn't any requirement for the handheld versions that cost around $40.

They are equipped to put out 50,000 volts which is not dangerous in itself, and the Amps are about 0.0004, which will not even effect a cardiac implant! Normally what you end up with is a safe bring down, as opposed to what a 9mm or a 12 Gauge Riot Gun will do!

I could take the time to list a few of the innocent people who have been killed in Portland Ore. in the last few years, but I'm sure everyone could provide their own list. Cops should not be killing people as their only option, and tasers will kill people.

We used to live in Savannah, GA. We went to the flea market there one weekend, they sell them there, too.
