Ron Paul is on record for accepting a donation from a know Neo Nazi as well as having his work published be a Holocaust denier and nazi supportive organization.

Why in the world would anyone vote for him

Just google Ron Paul and Nazi

Ron Paul continually lets and has his work published by them and not once tries to stop it. A person that disagreed with them would refuse to let them publish their stuff, I know I would.

Here is an article of his

And here is an anti-Israel article published by the same paper.

Not to mention here is a sister publication owned by the same person that own American Free Press Willis Carto (who is a holocaust denier)

Willis Carto
Quote:Carto was also the founder of a publishing company called Noontide Press, which published a number of books on white racialism, including Yockey's Imperium and David Hoggan's The Myth of the Six Million, one of the first books to deny the Holocaust. Noontide Press later became closely associated with the Institute for Historical Review (IHR), and fell out of Carto's hands at the same time as the IHR did. The IHR was founded by Willis Carto in 1979, with the intent of promoting the proposition that the Nazi Holocaust never happened - a view known as Holocaust denial. After losing control of Noontide Press and the IHR in a hostile takeover by former associates, Carto started another publication, "The Barnes Review", which also focuses on Holocaust denial.

Apparently you have never run for office.

Flyers, yard signs, travel, conference rooms, hotel rooms, ... are EXPENSIVE.

Also, few citizens contribute to candidates.

You take money where you can get it. It doesn't mean you have to have sex with them. :)

So you think it is OK for a Presidential nominee to take money from a known Neo Nazi???

Better to lose an election than to lose your reputation. If Ron Paul doesn't agree with the positions of these particular donors then he should return that money ASAP.

I agree with you, Toxic.

I also want to add that if one looks in the war chests of each of the candidates you will find support from undesirables.

Ask yourself what is more harmful? Paul being printed in a quacky publication run by a Holocaust denyer or the other candidates taking money from corrupt corporations, the Chinese, and big oil.

This is one reason why campaign finance reform is so important.

Here is what I find amusing:

The Republicans (otherwise known as the party that claims nearly every racist, bigot, and mysogynist in the country), are the ones :blah about this.

Ron Paul may help lose them the election in 08 because even if he loses the primary he could potentially still receive a few percentage points of the presidential vote that would have otherwise gone to the Republican candidate.

The funny part is that the Republican strategists should realize that when they call Ron Paul a racist, they are actually endorsing him to a portion of their party. :whistle

Ron Paul shouldn't take that money. Lots of candidates, from both parties, return money under such circumstances. Candidates don't immediately [or sometimes ever] know where all of their contributions come from, so I don't think this should be held against him.

Maybe he shouldn't, but it takes money to run.
Most of the good citizens DON'T contribute.

So you either have to have a few million of your own money to burn (for a congressional seat) or get money from whoever will contribute.

I ran for office and can tell you that nice complements DON"T PAY THE BILLS.

When you go to get your first low volume yard signs, they are $100 each. Flyers are $1 each. That crap adds up fast.

Good citizens who don't contribute force candidates into the arms of Special Interests and even they are hard to wring money out of.

Do you ahve any alternatives?

Other people have run with limited funds and still avoided the Nazis.

It is interesting, though. Funds from Nazis will probably hurt him less than funds from Communists would.
