View Full Version : President and VP combinations
Who do you think at this point in time, from the people currently running, would make a good President and VP
Cross party lines is ok for this is a fantasy election (like FF but with politics)
I like a Gulliani/Obama ticket.

All right Reverend. I can not think of one person running in either party I would like to vote for. Maybe Ron Paul. But with who? Actually, I like Ron Paul a lot. But no one else.

I think Obama is the worst Democratic canidate. No experience worth mentioning, and he is just a little off the wall. Take away the presidents right to make war? Even I think that's wrong.

Saguaro, I agree with you. There are many people who tell the truth, but don't know much about anything else. Ralph Nader is a good example.
Bush is the best example of what happens when someone is elected to the presidency and knows nothing about 99.99% of what is going on in the world. Unfortunately, Bush hasn't learned anything either.
Obama may be, and I think is, a whole lot smarter than Bush, and may be able to learn quickly on the job. For myself, I'd rather vote for someone who doesn't have so much to learn. I think Obama will make a great president in ten years.

My opinion of John Edwards is based on what I know of him. He was born poor and I mean really poor. He has never had anything given to him and has worked for every dime he has ever made. Despite becoming a very wealthy man he has never forgotten where he came from, he is still very connected to the people he grew up with. He and Elizabeth celebrate their anniversary at a Wendy's restaurant every year as they did on their first one because it was all they could afford. I met him briefly in 2004. First impressions are important, and from my very short conversation with him I concluded he is the real deal.

I'll pay more attention to him in the next debate. I'll admit I have a hard time listening to politicians because they keep telling people how fantastic they are. They have to do it, and I feel like I don't have to listen.
This doesn't make any sense Patriotsblade, but I can't stand people who are so egotistical they think they are qualified to be president.:sad

Some satire from Andy Borowitz is appropirate for this thread. Huckabee Chooses Jesus as Running Mate
Move to Shore Up Evangelical Base
In a bold move that could dramatically alter the playing field of the 2008 G.O.P. presidential race, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee today named Jesus Christ as his vice-presidential running mate.
Governor Huckabee has made an increasing number of comments about his relationship with Jesus in recent debates, but few Republican insiders expected him to announce that he was anointing Christ as his vice-presidential pick.
“This could be huge for Huckabee,” said Stenson Partridge, a veteran G.O.P. consultant. “Among Republican voters, Jesus Christ is even more popular than Ronald Reagan.”
The Reverend Pat Robertson, a supporter of former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani, said he was “blindsided” by the news of Huckabee’s decision: “I talked to Jesus last night and He didn’t mention anything about it.”
At a raucous Huckabee rally in Davenport, Iowa today, supporters of the former Arkansas governor could be seen holding signs reading “HUCKABEE/CHRIST ’08.”
It is “highly unorthodox” for a presidential candidate to select a vice presidential running mate who is a prominent figure in the Holy Bible, says Davis Logsdon, dean of the School of Divinity at the University of Minnesota.
But according to Mr. Logsdon, if the Huckabee-Christ ticket makes it all the way to the White House, it could be historic in more ways than one: “If Huckabee is elected and then something happens to him while in office, we would be looking at our first Jewish president.”
Elsewhere, a madman attempted to take hostages at former Sen. Fred Thompson’s campaign headquarters in Rochester, New Hampshire, but found that everyone had been given the week off.
