Calamity goes dancing

Ringo will never tell you this, so I will embarrass him as he looks cute when he turns various shades of red. A week ago last Saturday we entered the Ballroom dance contest at the famous Corn Palace in Mitchell SD, the one time home of Lawerence Welk, and one of the most unique buildings you will ever see.

You could us the band they had or if you chose to bring your own CD, and they play it on a state of the art sound system. I wouldn't tell him that I brought music along, so he figured he would have to either Polka or Waltz, to the 4 Fat Dutchmen..hee hee!

Well we got there and I gave them the CD, and when we were called I told him it would be a slow song for a close embrace waltz! Well to cut to the chase, he performed flawlessly, with a couple of beautiful dips, and we swept our category. Give him hell girls as he blushes easy and I see he is being a bad boy again! Oh here was our winning number.

CALAMITY!!!! Remember I am home alone tomorrow with the washer, and you know how good I am with that machine!!

Yea I thought for sure I would have to do a Polka, my weakest dance, but the category was open and there were only around 42 to 45 couples! I wanted them to give the prize to a couple who came up from Valentine NE, they were in their 70's and two weeks ago they celebrated their Golden Anniversary! They did a very nice Waltz to an Old song called the Missouri Waltz, and they were good! HE is a retired cattle rancher from the Sandhills of NE which are beautiful, and he and his wife invited us down in the spring to see the calves being born! He told me you drive down his road and look up on the hillsides, you willsee them laying there waiting for the mother, with patch's of snow to add to the sight! I like that, call me square but the Natural part of Nature is my weakness!
