Genetically Modified Foods.

SO, yeah. The majority of our foods are now genetically engineered. I don't mean cross pollination. I mean they are fucking with the genes on a particle level, even fusing animal and human genetics and proteins with plant matter. (Soylant Green, anyone?)

The FDA and USDA say it's all fine. They do not require labeling of genetically modified foods--so practically all the food you eat--especially in restaurants is genetically engineered.

How does that make you feel?

The EU has pretty much reject GMO's, insisting on organics. Yet the U.S. (in their insane mission to become the fattest people on earth) are gobbling up tons of the shit with no thought.

I am curious to know--do you think that just because the FDA and USDA have "okay'd" it--it's ok?

I hate it. Having said that, I feel powerless to do anything about it. Since we don't have labeling that tells us what we are eating, we have no way to avoid it. Except to move almost anywhere else in the world. Except China.
Most fish is not labeled to country of origin, even though the law says it must be. The importers have stopped implementation of the law. We are either going to eat what they want us to, or raise our own, and how do you know the seeds you buy are unaltered?

I always avoid it when I can. USDA organically-labelled food must be non-GMO,(or at least, a lot of the good companies strive for it, and put it right there on the packaging in many cases) if I am not wrong. :para I'm too lazy to google! :lol

They are fucking with what is normally under the power of the *earth*, and it's inevitable that the bugs and diseases will adapt to these new food items, and eventually wipe them out. Their natural ability to adapt and repel these pests/diseases will be ruined. :kickcan

We grow a lot of fresh vegtables up here and Calamity's mom still remembers the art of canning, and blanching! We don't eat a lot of meat, although I love Buffalo Burgers, and pond raised Catfish! I have two apple, 3 pear and 1 cherry tree, plus a good sized strawberry patch! I could raise a steer or two if needed, and we get fresh fryers & eggs from a guy north of Sturgis!

All of this Political arguing and fighting is a lot like the WWF, its a lot of Bullshit, and fakery, as ALL these bastards sleep together, as they herd the common man towards subversion and obedience! FOLLOW THE MONEY, and I predict by maybe as early 2030, 20% of the Population will rule the remainder!

This bullshit of Genetics is a way of conditioning you to a subversive lifestyle!!

What are you seeing that you think I am saying? I am totally fucking against alteration of anykind, did this not come across? I just think thjis has to do with being able to eventually control the populace and take a lot of Farmers and farms out of the picture, and make billions for the these robber barons!

Most of the time I think that if the USDA and FDA say anything's OK - it's time to run! Remember, it's not the USDA and FDA saying squat - it's the corporations behind the food modifications and drugs who are lining political pockets for the right to hold those handpuppets.

I don't care. I think that it is safe. Once a chicken is killed and eaten the genetic mutation is gone. I could care less. It is protein for my body, I cannot see how the alteration could change the protein.

I think that veggies and such are even more safe.

Good thread Q...I don't like it at all. We have 2 cherry, one pear, 2 apricots, one plum, one fig and 3 apple trees...2 chickens too...I've stock piled hundreds of canned goods and many pounds of dry good...they will keep for years.... we only buy beef and pork from local growers and honey locally too....we are doing our best to not eat anything altered...rarely eat out...only on vacation once a year.
