My MIL bought me this cologne when she went on a Nile cruise in Egypt last year. It smelled like she extracted it straight from a hippo. I had no option of returning it so I am saving it in case I ever need to engage in chemical warfare with her.

Last year, she gave me an autographed football, picture and a book of Rudy, the football player from Notre Dame. I hate football. I guess I could ebay it? :lmao But, it's still in the box she gave me in the closet.

Oh dear! So many! :lol
The first thing that popped into my head was an outfit that my Mum gave me when I was probably 22. It was a mint-green top and pants. Cotton-poly blend, with quite a bit of frou-frou fake pearl beading, on the top. It was awful, and so not my style.
I left it in the closet and ended up donating it to Huricane Andrew relief. :para I'm sure there was some nice, older woman, in Florida that enjoyed it. :teehee

Mine was a sports sweatsuit, light blue, horrendous! :yuck
My sister 'n I swapped out, she had gotten a really cool pair of stirrup pants from our mother. We joked about it thinkin' our mother probably meant for us to have the exchanged gifts coz our mother was kinda stressed when she wrapped gifts and did all she did for Christmas. :lol

My mother-in-law gave me a book on child rearing after she'd visited our house. The book basically said 'spank 'em and put 'em in their rooms with a lock on the outside of the door'. She's not my m-i-l anymore and my grown children aren't so thrilled with her either. :godzilla
Oh, I 'donated' the book to Good Will.

My worst gift was from my ex. I told him I wanted music, told him which music I wanted, gave him a list to choose from, and he gave me a set of dishes.
Dishes are good. But they are not personal. They were for the whole family. One of the last straws in that marriage. It showed me exactly how little he gave a care.

I asked my sister-in-law to give me a copy of a recent picture of brother who had died.
She waited a year and sent me a fucking frilly throw pillow with transfer picture of my brother on the fabric.
It is in my closet.

I don't get gifts so I have no bad gift story. Course there was the VD but I don't think that was meant as a gift.

For my tenth wedding anniversary this year, my husband gave me a commemorative Tin Man Barbie Doll. Apparently the modern gift for a tenth anniversary is TIN and dude took it seriously.
Forget that I'm so NOT a commemorative doll person - forget that I honest to Pete cannot stand The Wizard of OZ and even if I did, my LEAST favorite character in that movie is the wimpy Tin Man - and he obviously forgot the BLATANT marketing and advertising by the Diamond industry for that gorgeous anniversary diamond band. I mean how many commercials of that couple by the fountains in Italy can you watch and not GET that point????
Ten years of marriage and I get a fucking BARBIE???
It's in the closet. It will be hawked on E-Bay once I discover it's really some kind of collectable crap someone would pay for. And if it fetches enough, I'll buy my own damn diamond ring!
