Melissa Etheridge, Alicia Keys and Annie Lennox are among the artists who will perform at the annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Norway, organizers said Thursday.

The Dec. 11 concert will also feature performances by Earth Wind & Fire, Colombian singer Juanes and Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, organizers told The Associated Press.

This year's Nobel Peace Prize went to former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for their efforts to help spread awareness about man-made global warming.

Organizers said Gore invited Etheridge to perform at the concert, which is held a day after the award ceremony in Oslo. Each year, peace laureates are given the opportunity to invite one artist of their choice.

Etheridge won an Academy Award this year for the song "I need to wake up," which featured in Gore's environmental documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." The American singer recently released her ninth studio album, "The Awakening."

Lennox, a former member of British pop group Eurythmics, will release her fourth solo album, "Songs of Mass Destruction," this month, while Keys, a nine-time Grammy Award-winning Soul and R&B star, is due to release her third studio album, "As I am," on Nov. 13.

"The Nobel Committee is pleased to welcome such a talented and eclectic group of artists for this momentous occasion," said Geir Lundestad, secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

The committee said it will announce additional performers and the concert hosts in the coming weeks.
