Our girls' were always in a Christian school until 2006, we moved to an area where the Christian schools are lacking in technology.

Anyway, this is their 2nd year in public school. Our 7th grader (just turned 12in Sept) always relays her day of events to us at night, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

So, today a girl in her honor's class told my daughter she wasn't Christian because she's Catholic. My husband and I got a good laugh out of it.

Yeah, pretty inane. What are parents teaching their kids?
Apparently its' not good enought to discriminate against non-Christians, now you have to sort out one persons brand of Christianity from anothers?

I would consider us more of a spirtual family than a religious family. We teach our kids to respect all faiths and those who don't practice at all. My mom and my sister are agnostic. I didn't know they had pint sized religious fanatics?

My daughter said the girl went up to the Science teacher and asked her if "Catholics are Christians?" The teacher said yes, and my daughter said the girl sulked the rest of the day. Come one, we're in AZ, we're not even in the bible belt, never had problems in OK, VA, or GA.

I thought AZ was Bible belted these days.
I actually don't know, hell, everyone 'out there' is a Christian these days, aren't they?

Back in the ol' days Christians weren't considered anything, they certainly weren't Catholics,
ask an old Catholic, they'll tell ya Christians ain't anything. :lol

OB, I think kids are pretty dumb these days 'n they don't even have to be religious to prove so. :lol

FTR: I'm a staunch atheist.

OT, OB, where all you been stationed with your husband?

Growing up fundamentalist Baptist in Florida, charmed on a annual basis with photos of Catholics worshipping dead people, I can assure you WE didn't think those folk were REAL Christians ... sigh...

Of course, generally speaking, these days the Romans and Fundies are in a very cozy bed together...

Times do change

yup

I've had people who are Baptists tell me I'm going to hell because I'm Methodist. Apparently you're only admitted to heaven if you are immersed as an adult baptism not sprinkled as a baby.

Then again, I was already hell bound because I drink, swear, and work outside the home. Yes - a very obnoxious Baptist man told me that working mothers were sinners and that I should stay home and be a wife and mother.

Fucking Asshole - pass me a beer! :lmao Can I get a bumper sticker that says 'My God can beat up your God." and really piss some people off around here?
