Romney Gets Confronted And Runs Like A Weasel

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was confronted head-on Saturday over the issue of medical marijuana.

Following a campaign appearance in Dover, New Hampshire, a member of the audience, Clayton Holton, told Romney he has muscular dystrophy and said five of his doctors say he is "living proof medical marijuana works."

"I am completely against legalizing it for everyone, but there is medical purposes for it," Holton told Romney.

Romney pointed out that there is synthetic marijuana as well as other pain medications available.

"It makes me sick. I have tried it, and it makes me throw up," Holton said. "My question for you is will you arrest me or my doctors if I get medical marijuana."

"I am not in favor of medical marijuana being legal in the country," Romney said as he moved on to greet other people.

Holton continued, "Excuse me, will you please answer my question?"

"I think I have. I am not in favor of legalizing medical marijuana," the Massachusetts Republican said.

The New York Times reports rival Rudy Giuliani was also recently confronted by a patient on the issue in New Hampshire. According to the Times, the patient accused the New York Republican of saying he would have “federal agents arrest the sick and the dying.”

"I never said that," Giuliani said.

Just so you know mean all of them, Cocaine - Crack and powder, weed, LSD , Extasy Heroin, morphine all of them.

Only 1 dryg law need be made. Selling to those under (whatever age is selected) gets you 3 years in jail, no parole no exceptions.

Legalize and regulate just as we do alcohol and tobacco.

For instance weed costs only 4 dollars a pound to cultivate and harvest in columbia.

But on the streets of America it cost over 1000 a lb.

Why? Because of the risks associated with bringing it to market.

All of the illicit drugs have similar risk markups.

Make it legal and the risk goes away, the street corner dealers go away. The crime associated with the importation and distribution goes away. The fights over territory go awy.

Crime drops right away if for no other reason is that lLeroy, Juan or Bubba only have to burglarize 1 hous instead of 10 to get their fix.

But you cannot tax it so that the price is so high that they have to go back to robbing 10 houses a day.

This remonds me of another of my pet peeves.

The left needs to take a side and decide.

They say that taxes on alcohol and tobbaco and gas are good because they discourage use in the case of booze and cigs and that it encourages conservation in the case of gas.

So the general rul of thumb is if you want less of something tax it.

So is that why they want to tax income and investment so heavily, because they want less of it?


I say if you want less of something, tax it. If you want more of something subsidize it.
