Mired in attorney scandal, Wilson to seek Domenici’s seat. After news broke that Sen. Pete Domenici (R-NM) would not be running for re-election, Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM) announced she would be seeking Domenici’s seat. Domenici continued to be “dogged” by questions about his role in the U.S. attorney scandal, but Wilson isn’t in the clear either. Heather Wilson is gong to be a weak candidate for the GOP. She violated DOJ guidelines trying to get the US Attorney to file a bogus voter fraud case to help her re-election campaign. The Democrats are going to have fun using that against her.
