I don't know how many here live in Michigan - but what a friggin crock.
It order to halt the "shut-down" there has been an income tax increase from 3.9% to 4.35% not to mention that Michiganders will now be charged sales tax (6%) on services. This in unbelievable. Our state has a $1.75-billion defecit!!!
Anyone else from Michigan?
Anyone else affected by this?
Anyone else outraged at the state of our beautiful state?

I think the states are totally out of control. There is no end to the desire of the state and local governments to rob the people
In the state of Oregon, they want to raise taxes, on smokers of course, to provide free medical care for people making up to 80,000 dollars a year. Oregon is not an expensive state to live in. That is approximately the equalivant of 125,000 a year in N.Y. This is totally outrageous. Most of those people already have insurance. If they don't, they can live without some luxury.
The states need a big wake up call. I am getting tired of being taxed and fee'ed to death.

Missy; I was born and raised in MI, but left when I was 22. I got an email from a friend last night about her husband being laid off because of the "shut down".
Issac; My sister lives in Beaverton, OR, and no way could we afford to live there.

Ocean - I'm glad you "got out". We really want to move to TN - but we have some things here that will take a few years before we can leave. In 2 more years I will be vested at my job and we will probably start looking for work their as we already have a place to live.
This state just keeps getting worse and worse. I was truly shocked when Jennifer Granholm was re-elected. She a friggin Canadian for starters and what she has done to our state in reckless and irresponsible. To be honest, I'm suprised no-one has tried to shoot her yet.
