Oregonions called Peter DeFazio's office, worried there was a conspiracy buried in the classified portion of a White House plan for operating the government after a terrorist attack.

As a member of the US House on the Homeland Security Commmittee, DeFazio, D. Or., is permitted to enter a secure "bubble room" in the Capitol and examine classified material. So he asked the WH to see the secret documents. On Wed. he got his answer: DENIED.

We're talking about the government of the US DeFazio says. "I would think that would be relevant to any member of Congress, let alone a member of the Homeland Security Committee."

Norm Ormstein, a legal scholar who studies government continuity at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, said he "cannot think of one good reason" to deny access to a member of Congress who serves on the HSC.

"Maybe the people who think there's a conspiracy out there are right." DeFazio said.

I've talked with Congressman DeFazio on many occassions and we are politically oppossite on most things, but I do agree with him on this item.

I can't speak for Wabash, but I expect he is like me, studious of our surroundings, not afraid to group or profile potential threats, no matter their Color, Race or Creed! I have a problem with the attitude that we are all going to live in a violent, dangerous, hateful world, and there is nothing we can do about it. And I'm a liberal because I don't want that.
